Mosquitoes

The only person I know more attractive to mosquitoes than I am is Pigeon. We try to keep her covered, and have given in and are using spray in addition anytime they are out, but I just looked over and counted 13 bites on the arm closest to me. Monkey luckily didn’t seem to have gotten whatever it is that makes me smell so tasty.  Im just hoping there’s some unknown benefit to it, because we can’t get her to stop scratching.

Oh no! Mosquito bites are so annoying. My mother and I are both extremely attractive to mosquitoes, and we've come back from holidays in Italy or Portugal covered in bites when everyone else seems to be unscathed -- I guess because we're distracting the mosquitoes! We're lucky not to live anywhere with malaria though, as for us mosquito bites are just an inconvenience -- although once my mother got cellulitis from a bite that didn't heal. In Ireland, we're more likely to get horse flies, which also find us delicious. I hope Pigeon's heal quickly and well!

I bet when your mother realized you inherited her tasty smelling blood, she felt the same dismay I’ve had this summer.

Oh, if your horse flies are anything like the few I’ve experienced (fortunately mostly on vacation), I’ll take mosquitoes and stop complaining about them. Fly bites hurt!
